2011 Mazda 2 – A Concentrated Compact Car

Friday, March 11th, 2011

The 2011 Mazda 2 is all about quick and efficient. The subcompact is great for college students or even those who don’t have far to drive to work. The perfect little city commuter makes getting around town a quick and simple process because of a lightweight feel and efficiency aspect.

With the gas prices being a concern for the summer of 2011, many are looking for something small and cost efficient when it comes time to fill ‘er up. The last thing anyone ever wants in life is the bill when you have to fill the tank on a large truck or SUV, it’s rather discouraging and begs the question of why we can’t get by on less.

The smaller and more compact cars are becoming very popular and sought after which is evident in the new models being revealed at this years auto show. Many of the manufacturers have shifted in this direction as people are tired of living gas station to gas station filling up the tank and overpaying for simply getting around town.

The benefit in owning a small car is the reduced fuel costs, but also it makes us take the time to look around at other things that we might be able to cut back on. If we practice being efficient from what we drive, what we wear, and how we consume resources, it can result in improving our overall attitude and outlook towards a sustainable and better future.

These days it can make a big difference if everything we own is newer technology that’s made to be economical and efficient. By tracking this we can see our progress and reward our commitment and influence others to be conscious as well.

The suggested starting MSRP of the Mazda 2 is $14,180.

30 Years with Mazda

Not many people in today’s labor force can say they have been selling the same product for three decades. But one local salesperson, Gary “Alex” Alexander was recently honored for this milestone. Alex has been selling Mazda vehicles since April 1980 and became very fanatical of the product. Today Wyatt-Johnson Mazda is proud to have Alex selling and promoting Mazda to enhance the reputation of the vehicle.

A reception was held in honor of his continuous dedication, hard work and initiative. Several of his former and present co-workers and long time devoted customers were on hand to help celebrate. On behalf of Mazda, Ben Coy, Mazda District Manager and Vince Cerza Mazda, Regional Manager awarded Alex for his long time service.

Congratulations Alex on 30 Years of Success!

Mazda 2 Vs. Honda Fit

Wednesday, April 28th, 2010

Subcompact vehicles offer fuel economy while being sporty enough to make the owner’s heart skip a beat periodically. Two subcompacts new in the US for summer 2011 are the 2011 Mazda 2 and the second generation 2010 Honda Fit.

The Honda Fit comes in two trim levels: Base and sport. This subcompact four door hatchback pleases with an suggested MSRP of $14,900 and also offers owner’s firm handling and good fuel economy at about 28 city and 35 highway. Cargo area accommodates as Honda designed the Fit with compact rear suspension and located the fuel tank under the passenger seat. Also the Fit has fold flat seatbacks and cushions that can be moved forward which allows the rear area to accommodate up to 57 cubic feet making fruitful trips to the home supply store doable.

Mazda has released preliminary figures for the 2011 Mazda 2. This model comes in two trim levels: The entry level Sport and the top grade, Touring. It is a 5 door hatchback and will have a suggested MSRP of $14,500. The wedge-like world traveler has been a favorite in other countries already winning 48 automotive awards including 2008 World Car of the Year. Will the U.S. embrace this subcompact? A quick look at the body style hints that this car will attract not only the economy minded but also a young demographic. Styling is curved with muscles and Mazda prides itself on giving the driver an experience called the “Zoom Zoom Concentrated” in which the contours of the car give the illusion of energy even while parked.

The Fit will offer a 1.5-L four cylinder engine that offers 117 horses and 106 lb. ft. of torque standard on both trim levels. It also comes with a five speed manual transmission standard or a five speed automatic transmission optional. Mazda 2 comes with a 1.5-L four cylinder engine offering 100 horses and either a five speed manual or a four speed automatic.

Each vehicle offers consumers a great way to maneuver around inexpensively; though the Honda Fit looking more like a mini minivan and the Mazda 2 granting more sporty muscles-with-curves look.

Mazda3 – A Step Ahead Of Honda Civic

Thursday, April 1st, 2010

Many consumers want a vehicle that is sporty with the latest technology yet is also practical. The sedan market offers many choices with Mazda’s MAZDA3 at the top of the list.  Consumers are initially swayed by what the visual designers create, but savvy consumers know that even though one vehicle may make the heart palpitate more than another–there are many variables to consider.

Just an uninformed quick visual of both cars gives the impression the 3 is the faster curve hugging fun drive. It doesn’t hurt that the 3’s grill looks like the car has a perpetual grin. However, to get down to an informed choice let’s do some research and see why the 3 which comes in sedan and wagon models is better than the Civic which comes in coupe and sedan.

Economically speaking the price on the 3 is slightly better than the with a suggested MSRP of $15,295 – $22,000 vs. the Civic being a suggested MSRP of $15,455 – $25,340.

The 2010 upgraded Mazda3 offers a 148-horsepower, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine available in 144-horsepower tune, and a 167-horsepower, 2.5-liter inline-four available in 165-horsepower tune.

The 2010 Civic brings a 113-horsepower, 1.8-liter four-cylinder natural gas-fueled motor, a 140-horsepower, 1.8-liter four-cylinder, and a 197-horsepower, 2.0-liter inline-four to the table.

The 3 and Civic come in five-speed automatic or manual, or an optional six-speed manual. Civic offers a hybrid for extra fuel economy, but the 3 doesn’t lose any points here because the performance version of the Mazda is also on the market: the turbocharged MAZDASPEED3.

Who will win the technology war?

The Mazda3 i SV offers drivers electrically-variable speed-proportional power steering.  Standard and optional features include a sunroof, satellite radio, Bluetooth, navigation system and stereo with more watt-power.

Civic drivers get an in-house pumping audio system of 350 watts searing through seven speakers. But watch out the 3 offers an optional Bose surround-sound system with noise cancellation technology.

Not only are both cars economical and sporty they also get high crash impact scores from NHTSA. Basically both cars offer a technological sporty ride for a great price, but the 3 edges the Civic in most categories when considering price and what each model offers.

Mazda 3 Earns 5 Star Safety Rating – Sporty And Safe

Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010

Mazda’s MAZDA3, known as ‘the’ fun sporty performance car in the small sedan market gets even better grades with a 2010 redesign. The new model has changed but the 2010 Mazda is still the car to own for the economy minded driver who loves the driving experience. The 2010 Mazda3 can be purchased as a four door sedan or a five door hatchback.

MAZDA3’s 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 148 horsepower and 135 pound feet of torque remained intact during the redesign but a five speed automatic transmission increased fuel economy which makes the 3 even more in tune with the times. 3 is also offered in as a 2.5-liter which offers 167 hp. Also available is a standard six speed manual transmission and the five-speed Sport automatic transmission with manual-shift mode.

3 enthusiasts will find the biggest changes are in exterior and interior design. The 3’s starting MSRP of $15,295 includes a cosmetic grill change but with fuel economy in mind. The grill that has been said to look like a smiley face was put into place to reduce drag and air noise. Also added to the 3 are flared wheel arches and the rear end is now curvier.

The interior was upgraded to look classier. Bluetooth connectivity and heated front seats are new as well.

Safety speaking the MAZDA3 does well in federal government crash tests. The 3 received five stars for driver and front passenger protection in frontal impact crash tests, five stars for driver protection, and four stars for passenger protection in side impact crash tests. Reasons for the good scores are safety equipment placed in the cars such as: advanced dual front air bags. side air bags, and side curtain air bags, anti-lock brakes with electronic brake force distribution and brake assist. Mazda also offers Dynamic Stability Control and Mazda’s Traction Control System but these are optional on some models.
Mazda’s MAZDA3 proves that outstanding performance and driving excitement can come in an economical package.

The 2011 Mazda 2 is an eco-friendly and sporty subcompact that’s sure to get you excited when you see it. Mazda 2 is green and now global as it debuts in the US for 2011. The Mazda 2 has aspirations to become a worldwide hit amongst the younger generation, and it’s popularity grew when revealed at the LA auto show.

There was little doubt cast amongst those who saw the new Mazda 2, it would do in the US what it’s been doing around the world. People flocked to it, admired it’s reasonable price, green attributes, and became attached to the thought of when it first rolls into US showrooms.

With it’s quaint, but aesthetically pleasing 3 door body style, the car satisfies comfort as well as budget. The cargo area is handy for packing in the groceries, and would be more than adequate for a night out with some friends for dinner or a movie.
